Having had ms for a long time and now arthritis I don't think I'm missing much Mark, you need more hobbies was the point you can find things to do no matter your age or disability I've found. My husbands rambling is keeping him happy and I love knitting and sewing and reading. What we aren't is bored.

My old nan used to say only boring people get bored ! That's always made me find things to do to keep myself entertained.

Some folks exist inside Cylinders, others Funnels, or, we are all in Funnels, but as yet, some have not touched the sides

Nothing I can think of bar for less adrenalin or testosterone flowing in my veins. I can see where I'm going with this - back to the old primitives .
Can adrenalin and testosterone really be responsible for cruelty and unpalatable behaviour?

I think you'll find, the Primitives, by and large, died young.

Sure can. Children can be incredibly cruel to their friends and animals. The reasoning behind it all is they are establishing boundaries, experimenting - seeing how much they can get away with in a civilised society in some instances. Their basic instincts are to dominate others and other creatures. Not all are like this though obviously, then again we are not all the same however much we like to think we are.

Nope. Trying to make Julie take in what this thread is actually about. It is not about my hobbies or boredom. Never has been.

True but I fail to see how this can be due to adrenalin and testosterone.
It is surely ignorance, lack of understanding/wisdom in the child.

I could expand on this to take into account the way the 'lefties' are fighting a losing battle with their premise 'we are all equal', when this is obviously wrong. We were never 'equal' right from the day we left our mother's womb. We all have qualities that differ from another. Some are stronger - can run faster - are good at maths - are patient - are aggressive - taller - shorter and so on. To insist we should all adhere to one set of principles and actions is to go against nature itself.

Is socialism an abomination when you think in these terms? If it is then which is the right path to take?

Gonna take a break to read the news.
