If on Windows 10, I'd say to uninstall the W.10 App version of Skype, then download and install the classic version instead. The classic version is much better than the W.10 App in my own opinion.

Your Microsoft account password can be used to sign into Skype. If you haven't got a Microsoft Account, or if you had a password for Skype before you had a Microsoft Account, you can alternatively use that one.

It is Windows 10, everything is working except skype.

I have tried and tried to get into my microsoft account, I have had codes to change the password but no luck.

Have you used Skype for years and so had Skype login details (e-mail address at the time and password) previous to having a Microsoft account password?

Is it your problem or a Skype problem ? We had scheduled a chat Monday but couldn't get it to work until last night. I'm told it was a Skype problem.

It is definitely my problem, I have used Skype for two years with no problem even after the Windows 10 upgrade.

The problem arose after the last update I had.

I have given up for the time being, I will get someone to fix it for me.

Skype uses a configuration file called shared.xml. In certain situations, it might be helpful to delete this file.
