don't place anything infront of the screen even say, a flat ornament. I had a low piece of amethyst and it's created a dark shadow burnt into the screen... just where any subtitles appear and are now unreadable.

I don't know whether it's true or not but if a plasma breaks as opposed to an LCD there were once concerns about toxicity and their safe disposal cos of the leaking plasma.
I'll update on that one if and when it topples over and breaks.

Blimey, 10yrs old.... that's good going isn't it? Don't think I've ever had a TV for 10 yrs...well except the really old thick set ones.
This one is apparently from 2013 and it's 46inch. Not sure about the picture quality, maybe I need to have a bash altering the colour or 'presentation' (if that's the right word) of it. Will try tomorrow.
(We only swapped today and I've not been able to play with it yet).
