My cats receive special offers from 'Pets at Home' sometimes - the suggestion that they should go and collect them - and foot the bill - is usually met with contemptuous glares!
In the name of getting out of the house for a while, my mother ended a recent phone conversation with me so she and my dad could take the dogs out for a drive to look for cats:
Pardon me, but did I hear that right?
Yes, when we are out driving and spy one, I say, "Kitty cat!" the dogs press their noses to the car window, barking and carrying on. They particularly get excited when we come across big dogs (horses).

Ok I'll admit it we used to pack our three at the time up in our car and go and look for sheep, they loved barking at them but was safer for the sheep if they had a pane of glass between them. It got so bad we couldn't say sheep so we started spelling it out but a few weeks later we realised they could spell ! From then on we called them woolies but they soon cottoned on. A houseful of monsters we had created still look back on them with fondness was a great time with mad dogs and mad kids. We obviously only sane same couple in the home
