Re: Is my dog spolit?

Hopefully we all spoil our pets. My wife spoils our rabbits unashamedly. The hay they eat is ordered from a farm in the south Black Forest which specialises in growing hay with all sorts of wild flowers in the mix. They get all sorts of fresh vegies from our garden. She buys organic herb and wild flower mixtures. One corner of our greenhouse is given over to the rabbits for a green mix and twice a day we go out and pick fresh green for them. Plus they have nearly 20sqm of back shed and outside run to run around in. They are also let out wice a day to run free in the garden.

Re: Is my dog spolit?

My little ex Romanian dog is a very different animal to the sad individual whom I rehomed three years ago. It must seem like a life of luxury now to her and she is very happy and has learned English remarkably well. I only have to say "squirrel" and she goes off barrelling down the garden, which is on three levels, like a little rocket. Yet when we are out walking and she is running free, she totally ignores the squirrels. So it is obviously a territorial thing in the garden. She knows so many words and is well aware of the time. She is fed at 5pm and from 4.30 she sits on the doormat by her bowl waiting. She is completely silent and patient, but will not move from that spot.

Most of the morning is spent with her laying on my bedroom windowledge (bay window) as it faces the street and she can watch who comes and goes. I have to position a chair so that she can jump up to the ledge and down from there. If the chair is not there, she sits on the floor beneath the window, again patiently waiting. I know who dictates the rules in this house.

and whats your OH getting? they would ask...

I would blow my cheeks out and say ooohh I think theres some macaroni left over / pizza/soup at which point they would all fall about laughing..

Of course OH is fed just as good as the dogs !
Oh crikey Cass, glad it's not just me. My weekly shop has shot up due to my two little boys being absolutely spoilt rotten.
2 whole chicken joints, lambs liver, lean shoulder pork steaks, minced beef, minced lamb, 1/2 a lean gammon joint, rice, carrots swede, broccoli, kale or cabbage, I put these items down as a matter of course now. They eat better than us. I know some don't recommend pork for dogs but I checked with my vet and he said it is fine as long as it is lean meat only with no fat, (hence having to pay higher price than normal for the better cuts).

He who must obey will never let me forget the day before shop delivery one week when I realised I had run out of food for their meal. They ended up having a freshly cooked rib-eye steak each that had been planned for our evening meal, whilst we made do with a tin of Big Soup and a Roll each for our dinner.

Re: Is my dog spolit?

I must admit I order in bulk for Murphy and used to do the same for the 3 boys, it is cat3 food ie pet food only but they still always had a good choice of food..
I did buy an upright freezer that stands in the garage just to store all the lovely meat I buy though...
