Re: Autumn adventures.
Weekend was what i have been waiting for, thanks to Supermoms weather site.
https://www.windy.com/?54.718,-3.494,6 it enabled a good view of the prevailing winds that were NNE and so a bout of seawatching was on.
On Arrival at St Marys it was noticable there wer lots of House Martins on the move.
I set up in shelter from the wind and immediately it was apparent that birds were at sea and migrating. 2 very close in Manx Shearwaters glided by.
Later a single Balearic Shearwater was observed as well as some Sooty Shearwaters.
So settled in and enjoyed some great passage as Brent and Pinkfoot Geese, several Red-throated diver and over 1000 Gannet streamed by.
Wildfowl were also busy hundreds of Wigeon and Teal, along with Common Scoter an 2 Velvet Scoter passed North.
Widgeon.
Saturday and Sunday were much the same with steady passage but Skuas stood ot on Sunday with both Arctic And Great skuas moving South.
Red-throated diver.
Brent Goose.
Teal.
