Here We Go Again...
While Jose is curling north and away, hurricane Maria is now tearing up the Caribbean. Dominica has been hit hard, and Puerto Rico is next, followed by Dominican Republic.http://www.bbc.com/news/live/world-l...erica-41315877
Warm sea surface temperatures and a late El Niņo arrival is really firing up this hurricane season, now only halfway over.
I can't imagine how exhausting this must be for the people who were unable to evacuate.

HiIt must be terrible for them.
If more extreme weather is to become the norm then sooner or later they are going to have to rethink their methods of construction.
COD Donnington, the Central Ordnance Depot, was built with blast proof housing around it during the Cold War.
Reinforced concrete, brick skin, concrete flat roofs, even the door and window frames are metal, built into the concrete walls.
The shops, public buildings, doctors surgery etc all built to the same standard.
Totally Hurricane proof.

Once again, those members on here living in Florida and Louisiana, time to take to the hills ahead of 'Maria' which has within the past 24 hours strengthened from a category 2 - 3 to a category 5 beast!!!Susie darlin':
