Yes I do Joe, and I'm sorry I didn't mean to crow.
Spring's on the way and hopefully the warmer weather will give us all a much needed lift x

Re: Do you take Turmeric?

Having been diagnosed with bowel cancer 2 yrs ago, I had surgery and then refused the chemotherapy treatment afterwards. My own research has led me to taking a Turmeric capsule daily, but the most important treatment I believe is a half-and-half mixture of Bicarbonate of Soda and Maple Syrup which I take daily. Just had my 2 yr check and no sign of the big C .... so ... watch this space

Re: Do you take Turmeric?

Oh boy, the great Complementary "Medicine" scam rears its ugly head again.

If you go and spend a heap of money buying this stuff, most will convince themselves that they derive some benefit.
Otherwise they'd feel like a goose for being conned.

By all means, use turmeric or ginger etc in cooking - great, tasty ingredients.
But scoffing bottles of pills or capsules, you've gotta be kidding.

Despite all the claims, there are NO genuine, conclusive, large-scale clinical trials on humans.
None. Zero. Zilch.
The so-called "scientific" research is almost invariably funded by the companies making billions by flogging this nonsense.
(One of the world's largest is Australian).

Do whatever makes you feel good - but try looking at both sides of the story.
Google "complementary medicine scams" or something similar.

Many can actually cause significant harm.

Re: Do you take Turmeric?

Dear old Pummy

Bless you

The thing is mate the situation you describe actually refers to the great Pharmaceutical conglomerates not the real medicines of Nature.

You are never going to get the medical industry to conduct real unbiased, unfixed, unsponsored clinical trials of things like turmeric, ginger, garlic and so on. Never. Because to give Nature the green light as the best and most sensible source of healing is to wipe away the mega profits of Big Pharma overnight.

Not only that but these conglomerates have long since gotten control of government and the world health organisations and seen to it that laws have been passed so that no small individual company or group can ever afford to put a cheap product through their exhaustive clinical trials.

So even if I personally know 100% that ginger is hugely beneficial and has healing powers of X, Y and Z, I could never in my lifetime afford to go through all the red tape and process costing literally $billions to get the world to properly endorse it.

You're really not this stupid Pummy so I suspect you are just being controversial for the fun of it to provoke a reaction.

Chemo has a ridiculously low success rate. Irradiating your body and pumping it with drugs is NOT the answer or way to good health. For most people it sets the clock ticking for a certain death, a death which the industry presents to you as "extra bonus years" of life. All they are doing is peddling snake oil again, directing people to hugely expensive treatments and drugs that for a large part don't work and seriously harm people. Just like the flu jab imo.

Products of Nature DO work. You just have to have the courage to try and use them properly instead of being a druggie dependent on the medical industry.

Liquourice Root really does cure dental abcess
Goldenseal really can be used with saline as an eye wash to defeat eye infection
Grapefruit Seed Extract really does kill bugs in your tummy and digestive tract and fights infections

The world we live in is cruel, run by largely evil power mad megalomaniacs who are hell bent on finding ways to make money off us and purposely damaging our health and selling us snake oil treatments is just one of the ways they achieve this.

Re: Do you take Turmeric?

Sorry Emerald. You are quite right. We could have been far more empathetic.

I actually hope that you do not 'pull the plug' as I have just been through a whole pile of your posts and I reckon you have much to offer here.

To you and Swim though, I remain skeptical about most of these 'complementary' and 'alternative' therapies.
Coincidentally, I watched a TV doco on the subject just last night (obviously didn't take notes).
The 'trials' and so-called evidence were discounted (to me) convincingly.
The money links to the billion-dollar industry were crystal clear.
I have consulted Dr.Google at some length as well and when one really checks out the "evidence" of the efficacy of this stuff, it really is found wanting.

On a minor personal note, I recently saw a GP (who strangely believes in these alternatives).
Without the benefit of any X-rays, ultrasounds or an MRI, he suggested Glucosamine, Fish Oil and an osteopath.
I subsequently saw a medical specialist who at least ordered all of the above diagnostic aids, studied them at length and literally "laughed out loud" at the previous GP's recommendations.
Said they were utterly ridiculous and useless - and indeed could do harm.

Yes I do, and I think it's essential. Great for mental clarity especially.
