My Beddie Pups

It's perhaps not a lot of interest to anyone else, but I loved my pups and wanted to show you what a different colour they are at birth and for the next few weeks.

They are born black, and as the weeks go on, they get a silver grey regrowth coming through at the roots, just like a lady who needs her roots re-doing.

As the black hair gradually gets clipped off, the silver (blue) becomes dominant.
This is except for the 'livers', like Gertie, who are brown from birth.

Eventually they end up like this (except this lot are all pulling silly faces cos they're fed up with me I think).

Re: My Beddie Pups

You'd never think they were the same dogs would you.
They're beautiful Mups.
I don't think I've ever seen in one real life.

Old English Sheepdogs go grey too. It was neat watching the colour change as they aged.

Hi

Lovely dogs Mups.

When I started work, Leeds City Council used them as ratters in Pest Control, great for finding where the rats where on derelict land.

Re: My Beddie Pups

Mups, I wonder if they are born black so they won't show how dirty they get....... you know what all little ones are like for getting mucky!

Just imagine what it would have been like if your GSD's had turned silver .... bath night would have been a very big job.
