Public Service Broadcasting.
Going back through the list I now realize that it was YOU who recommended them.I thought I had heard them on Radio6 or summat.

To be fair to Floydy, he did say he had the Tracy Chapman cassette but wore it out or lost it else it would definitely be on the list.

Re Gary Newman, last seen as Kraftwerk. roadie I feel the big difference between us musically comes from our age differences.

You got into bands that i once enjoyed as i was looking for different things, but you still managed to surprise me with some of your choices, Earth and Fire, Laurie Anderson, Head machine, Silver Apples, and Dr John, shows you have a bit of a liking for more challenging music.

I am ever on the lookout for new sounds and expect i will always, i have tried to put a flavour up in the various musical threads ive started and a few respond, so i get to hear new bands.

Enjoy your holiday.

Re: Floydy's All-Time Top 1000 Favourite Albums

I listen to at least 15 new songs a day - some I don't like, some are ok and others go on to become favourites where I'll seek out the album.

I don't like to be listening to the same stuff over and over, well, not all of it.

It could have been mate, yes. The first one I put in was 'Every Valley' early doors and I remember also that Nom had some input and other info on them too

White man middle aged music lol! Like that. At least I'm still classes as middle aged, which is a compliment I guess

Tracy Chapman...see below.
The other one I'm not keen on that kind of thing at all unfortunately mate. I don't understand what it's about being in a different language. The music is okay though.

That's true mate, it would have made the list but maybe not too high.

Same here mate, although Floyd is an exception usually. But after all this I'll be giving them a rest for a while.

I'm filling up my MP3 player today actually ready for my holiday next week. At the moment I'm putting on Steely Dan, Steve Miller, all summery stuff. No Joy Division though as it wouldn't be ideal listening from a Tenerife sun lounger.

What kind of mp3 player do you have? They're becoming quite a rarity these days with only Sandisk and Sony putting them out of the quality players unless you want a £1000 + high-res-Dap which does nothing more.

It's a fairly basic 8GB Phillips one I bought from Argos a few years ago mate. Cost about £25 I think
