Apparent Dangers of Folic Acid in Pregnancy

I read somewhere recently that some women have a problem with folic acid (as opposed to folate in foods) and it can cause tonque tie and tight foreskin in babies. (As you will know all pregnant women are told to take folic acid, particularly in the first 12 weeks).

These conditions are said to have risen sharply in recent times. I've just googled again for more info and only a couple of things came up - just a few women's groups going on about it, rather than something more "official".

Have you any experience of this connection?

No one eh.

The MoS have something on this today - A spina bifida charity says it is just scaremongering (but they would wouldn't they?):
