However it gave me a boost!
I can well imagine it did, great compliment

thats lovely, to know you are valued as a friend xx

Re: Compliments

Was stood at bus stop only last week, a man came round the corner and said I looked 'dapper'!!! The words of the song 'any old iron' started to ring in my ears.

Re: Compliments

The one that sticks in my memory is from years ago. My son was about nine or ten years old, one day in school his class decided to have an impromptu vote on whose mum was the prettiest very un pc, but anyway my son came running out of school to tell me I had won the vote

He was so pleased that his pals had voted for me....I hope no bribery went on but to this day he still reminds me

"You don't look a day over 135, Granny!" A wonderful compliment paid me by my second grandson (14) a few months ago.

Re: Compliments

I was out walking with our 18 year old grandson. A friend of his later told him that he'd seen him walking with his Dad. That was 10 years ago. I don't think the same mistake would be made now.

Re: Compliments

When I was a kid - "Looks like his father, built like his mother". A back-handed compliment if there ever was one.
