A great Poem sticks for a Lifetime!
I think we all love a really meaningful Poem.They seem to stay with you for a lifetime.
They're the ones for which you remember all the words, always!
Here's two of my favs, first two lines only, I think everyone will be able to fill in the rest.
How about yours?
my 1) "It was early in November,
Or it may have been December"
No 2) "Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there, I do not sleep"
(Shortened to save space!)

Ones I remember isThere was a man from darling
who got on a bus in Ealing
He read on the door
Don't spit on the floor
So he upped and spat on the ceiling

The lord be praised
My belly raised
an inch above the table
and I'll be dammed
if I ain't crammed
as full as I am able
And those are just the "clean" ones

I love this one, my aunt is 82 and she recites it from memory.When you get what you want in your struggle for self,
And the world makes you king for a day,
Then go to the mirror and look at yourself,
And see what that man has to say.
For it isn’t a man’s father, mother or wife,
Whose judgement upon him must pass,
The fellow whose verdict counts most in life,
Is the man staring back from the glass.
He’s the fellow to please, never mind all the rest,
For he’s with you clear to the end,
And you’ve passed your most dangerous, difficult test,
If the man in the glass is your friend.
You can fool the whole world down the pathway of years,
And get pats on the back as you pass,
But the final reward will be heartache and tears,
If you’ve cheated the man in the glass.

‘Two amalgam,’ he’ll say, ‘for in there.’
How I laughed at my mother’s false teeth,
As they foamed in the waters beneath.
But now comes the reckonin’
It’s methey are beckonin’
Oh, I wish I’d looked after me teeth
