One year I bought a set of Satin UJ, and I was sliding all around the bed. What a hoot. I wouldn't buy them again.

I see most of you iron your sheets. Maybe I am going to start doing that. Bet they are much more comfy if they are ironed.

Egyption Cotton is good I think.

Not bloody likely. Since I'm the only one who sees them and as I said earlier, they are 'fitted' sheets which can be pulled really tight, there's no point in ironing them - a waste of time, effort and electricity darlin'

Re: Bed linens

I have polycotton fitted sheets in various colours.
I've never ironed any bed linen. Life's too short.

Right!

For the same reason satin nightgowns are better in theory than in practice .

You are right Surfer. I had one at one time, but I soon got rid of it.

Re: Bed linens

I have been buying fitted bed sheets from Lidl for years. They are about £5 for a double bed and are a light brushed cotton. they are brilliant. Just wash and dry and put back on.

A few years ago I bought some egyptian cotton sheets for a change and whilst they were nice to sleep in I just couldnt be doing with ironing them. We now use them as dust sheets.

I change my sheets at least once a week so I would need a few pairs and would be ironing my life away.

Re: Bed linens

Im with you surfer mom, the higher the thread count the better

And I iron them as well

Having a very high mattress I need very deep fitted sheets. JL or HoF usually or Northern Nights on QVC

None cheap, but they last and last and last

Re: Bed linens

Nothing nicer than sliding into clean, freshly ironed sheets at the end of the day.

CLEAN SHEETS

Crisp white linen, lightly starched,
smoothly ironed. Lace edged,
virginally prim – but wickedly inviting,
enticingly cool to touch. Sensuous
with the heady fragrance of fresh air,
lavender, and sunshine. Lying softly
against my skin – saving my wanton
nakedness from embarrassing the night air.
