Re: Holly

Jazzi, I am pleased to hear that the blood test and x-ray were clear, but it sounds like Holly may have a few tummy problems, so ask what could be causing them.
She may be sensitive to some foods and the new diet will work, but you need to be reassured by the vet that it is nothing worse that a sensitive tummy.
I don't want you or Holly to suffer again, so ask what you should do if the new food doesn't deal with her problem.....after all the vet is being paid to advise you and make Holly better so you don't want her to suffer unnecessarily.
I hope you both have a more comfortable night and Holly gets better!

Re: Holly

Hi Jazzie that is good news, from your description of Holly's tummy content yesterday I suspected a foreign body, puppies are always swallowing things they shouldn't .

It's good also that you have time to catch up on some jobs before collecting Holly

Re: Holly

Excellent news that there are no foreign bodies and blood is normal.
So what did they think was the problem?

She will be ever so pleased to get home, I bet.

This sounds so much like our late Mollie and Elsie's starts in life with a gluten intolence ending up as the diagnoses. Trouble is vets don't test for that I'm not even sure if there is a test. It was hit and miss and trialling foods to discover it.

That's similar to my friend who had a beautiful GSD pup but he always had the runs, and was not gaining weight and growing at all for such a potentially a big dog.
It was some weeks later they found he was intolerant of most dry most dry foods, and any processed meats.
Once she found out what the problem was it could be sorted.
In his case, he could only have a raw diet, and quickly gained weight and grew into a very handsome dog.

Re: Holly

I wish Ranger had stomach problems or was at least a little more particular about what he eats. In the last week he has eaten another leash down to the metal clasp, an entire shoe, an entire remote control, a wash cloth, a sock, an empty plastic yogurt container, a necktie and dirt.

Seriously though, Jazzi, I know it must be a relief. I hope you can come up with a diet that works. Poor baby!

Re: Holly

We have the same problem with Coco, she has a really sensitive stomach, always has done, that's why she only eats Tuna Fish in Spring water, if I give her Cat food or any treats then she has the runs badly and sick.

Re: Holly

The vet did suggest she might have a sensitive tummy till she's a bit older! So we have to wait and see.

Thanks for your kind words again. Xx

Re: Holly

I hope Holly does well on her new diet Jazzi. Hopefully as she gets a little older her tummy won´t be quite so sensitive.

Re: Holly

I'm another one hoping that a new diet will do the trick for your little one.
Got everything crossed here, and getting the pooches to cross their paws too!
Let it be so!
