Bones.

I have always enjoyed the novels of Kathy Reichs about a forensic anthropologist named Temperance Brennan - they are a bit gory in parts - but informative and eminently readable. Was interested to learn they had been adapted for the TV series - "Bones" - and, while Westie sitting, had a look on my friend's TV.

What a disappointment!

In the books Brennan is a knowledgeable, well focused and efficient, crime solving character - a leader.

In the TV show they portray her as a brainless air-head unable to function without at least one man hovering over her.

Why do 'they' do that?
Are americans really so afraid of strong women?

Had I seen the TV series first I would never have bothered with the books.

Re: Bones.

Im often left disappointing with film / tv versions of a book i have read. I think its down to how they portray characters that ive set in stone in my mind.

I did enjoy Peter Jacksons vision of "The Lord of the Rings Trilogy"
