I think a lot of noise cause nowadays is the fact people are putting
laminate flooring down I have the same trouble with the rented
property next door. I can hear them chasing each other around the
house and even up the stairs as there is no carpet in the house.
We own our houses around here but they sell them and rent them
out and all the problems in this street have come from the rented
houses and their tenants.
I will be ageist about my comments as well, it is normally the younger
end as you don't see many elderly having the police called every week
for their noise.
Laminate flooring above me caused much disturbance.
Yes, tenants normally are more problematic than owners (in my personal experience).
Yes, I want to move into sheltered housing because I too believe the older personal has more respect. The only problem there is those who are hard of hearing. When Mum lived at the sheltered housing, we could hear a tv booming out from well down the corridor!! That was with the person's door closed.
Knowing me, I'd get a flat next door to one like it.
