Neighbours From Hell

Is there a solution to this - watched a docu on them and my heart goes out to them that suffer.
A good neighbourhood turned into nightmare because of one family that moved in.
They were horrendous, constant noise and the neighbours that complained were given abuse. 'Eventually' the family were evicted but, then moved into another good neighbourhood to start the whole thing off again !
My solution would be to put these people all together on one estate and let them get on with it.
Why should they be given a nice area and home just to cause misery to others.

Re: Neighbours From Hell

They did that in Kettering at one time and the area became a crime hotspot. Not a good idea.

Re: Neighbours From Hell

Mine would be to teach them by example and imprisonment and fines to not be neighbours from hell. Sort of rehabilitation rather than blight an area by putting them all together.

Our upstairs neighbours need to have their music equipment limited so it can't play so loud and perhaps their electric cut off to stop them carrying on into the night.

I am a big believer too in giving trouble makers a lot of hard work - a tired person will go to bed and stop making noise quite early on it's those with time on their hands who cause the most problems.

Well it would turn the area into a hotspot, great Idea.

Decent people could live in peace, and these scum could "upset" each other.

I can't see them staying there though, they will come out of those estates and stronger for being together in numbers.

Also how would we police this council tenants could be forced but private house owners ? how would you force them to sell and buy a house on one of these estates ?

True about homeowners but an estate to put the others , well you would know where they were - as for a hotspot, these initially quiet areas become a hotspot too, police attending almost every night !
I agree with your suggestions though, they need to be 'shown' the error of their ways .....

Re: Neighbours From Hell

My problem neighbours have it seems been moved from many addresses before they landed on us, I keep thinking if the council just thought more about housing them it could address many of the problems, they throw things out of the windows (set fire to my curtains last summer with a cigarette end they chucked out) this was known before they put them here so why give them a top floor flat ?
They make a lot of noise with their "music" so why put them in a quiet block of flats ?
They like to make porn films in the communal hallways and on the stairs ! so why put them in a flat with access to all this ?

They need a house with few if any neighbours not to be in a flats complex.

Same thing with the neighbours with the dangerous dog, they need a house with fenced garden not a flat with communal grounds.

All of your points make sense and as 'solutions' take for ever and the toll it takes on the health of good neighbours, makes me wonder if putting them altogether if only temporary until a better solution is found.

When it comes down to it we just don't have enough suitable housing for everyone anyway so I can't see anyone being moved for the peace of others because we just don't have anywhere to put them.

Re: Neighbours From Hell

In 1996 we had constant nuisance from local kids (and adults) banging a football up our garage wall, I had to spend £16,000 in redesigning the side of the property knowing fully that the house was going on the market the same year, an expensive episode.
