Brilliant, seminal folk guitarist. I and so many of my guitar playing friends started out trying to emulate Davey Graham. Angie was one of the first finger-picking tunes I learned as an enthusiastic 16yr old.

I also listened to a Bert Jansch version today (youtube) and was surprised that it was faster and not nearly as good.

Bert Jansch ... a better version than one of his I found earlier.

Still not as good as Davy Graham IMO

Damn fine player. Bit grumpy looking though. I will have to try and find some other work of his.

Re: MKJ's Music Choices

It says he's Josh Lane.

There will be plenty of others on youtube (hopefully) showing the finger positions.

It was amazingly popular in its day.

I don't like that Jansch diversion ... find it unnecessary and was surprised to hear Paul Simon echoing it.

I assume it was something to do with copyright, but I always find it a bit naf when another bit of tune is bunged in.

This is interesting - very in fact, with some great guitar playing ...

Please can one of you guys tell me the name of the extra tune plonked in, in the Jansch version ?

I associate it with Ray Charles but can't find it when googling.

I can certainly hum or doo doo it
