Don't walk home alone girls.

Just watched crime watch .
A vicious rape on a girl walking home between the hours of 3.30 -4.00 am
What is the matter with young women going out drinking and walking home alone ?
While they should be able to do this its just so dangerous .
What are they thinking of ?

Re: Don't walk home alone girls.

There are bad people out there it's a fact of life unfortunately. It's no good the feminine brigade saying it's all the fault of men, but not all men are rapists and people have to take responsibility to protect themselves from crime of whatever type. You wouldn't go on holiday and leave all of your doors open because it would leave you vulnerable, so why drink yourself into a stupor wearing revealing clothing and then walk home alone? The mind boggles.

As you say it should be possible but being drunk anytime increases risks too much for lone women IMO.

These girls have no common sense
There are enough warnings out there on the dangers - club together and get a cab home - absolutely senseless they are

I think we all suffer from " Bad things don't happen to me" syndrome. Much like so many idiots that never wear a seatbelt. Awful things can happen to anyone at anytime. I worry more about my young Grandaughters than I ever did about my sons in their teens.

What she doing out at that time of the morning. I just saw it on crime watch. It is not nice to think that there are men out there waiting for these opportunities but why didn't she take a cab home. The man she was drinking with should have seen her home safely anyway!

I'm not sure modern dating is as safe as that Moyra I've had long conversations with my lot about being gentlemen and escorting their dates home to no avail because the girls don't want it, they have to be independent

Re: Don't walk home alone girls.

It seems a different time from the 1960's when you thought nothing of hitch hiking around the country and sometimes on your own!!
My friends and myself only seemed to meet nice caring lorry drivers who loved to tell us about their families.
Was it when women became liberated that everything changed?
