I remember saying to my son in law, that if he made my only daughter unhappy he would have to answer to me, half joking and whole in earnest if you know what I mean. I think it’s a fathers duty to set it straight from the start, very hard for a father when he loses his only daughter to marriage, mothers can have a good cry at a wedding but not the poor daddies, they just have to look on and 'Give her away' in silence.
That might make an interesting thread, “How do Father’s feel giving away their Daughters?” my answer...terrible.

Re: Swimming with the dolphins

For me there's something special about interacting with animals, especially wild animals and I've had a few experiences, and that includes Dolphins.

Some of the things you see the wild dolphins do you'd be forgiven for thinking they've been trained.

If you are in the sea and you meet them they can be a bit rough because they are such masters of their environment but it's not intentional and it takes them seconds to realise that humans may be intelligent but they're not dolphins and they ease off!

We often saw them in the Arabian Gulf if we were working offshore but I've also seen them in the Mediterranean.

To witness them from vantage point of the deck of a crew boat at sea, working with tuna and porpoises to "harvest" flying fish is something I'll remember all my life - fantastic!

Sharks are the ones that amazed me though, and rays and the amazing cuttlefish!

Sharks are incredibly curious about everything and cuttlefish do the most amazing courtship "dance" you'll ever, EVER see!
I could tell you some stories but usually no b****r believes me. stevmk2
