Mr. Selfridge

Another programme I used to enjoy. They said on the telly today that another series is starting this Wednesday (I think it was Wednesday anyway), so I shall look forward to that.

Gordon Selfridge was the father of modern day merchandising and marketing. A marvelous self publicist, the Richard Branson of his time, he ranked alongside the visionary JOHN LEWIS in his foresight and imagination.

He coined the phrase"the right goods in the right place at the right time, the right price and in the right quantity" The mantra of all successful retailers.

I watched the first episode & was dismayed to see graphic sex scenes, irrelevant to the plot. I'm no prude, but I thought that this aspect of his life was unnecessary & prurient.

Bring back Mary Whitehouse.

Just had a look in the tv guide, and its not on tonight at all! Have I misinformed you? They were advertising it on the telly a couple of nights back and I thought it said starting this Wednesday. It's definitely back, but does anyone know when it starts?

That must be a repeat on Encore I'm guessing.
We'll just have to be patient & wait for the new series. I'm sure it won't be long.

They are repeats of series 2, a third series starts in the new year.
