Menopause and depression.

Who else is going through one or both illnesses. I am sadly suffering both and could do with some advice. Especially with the hot flushes.

What can a mere male say??? My late wife strolled through it so yes I was lucky. Maybe only a woman can advise you but remember a good man will be there for you?

Perhaps HRT would relieve all/both of your symptoms..

Go and see your doctor there are of lots of medications available that will help with both of these conditions.
Stay clear of OTC remedies and old wives tales, they will probably just exacerbate the problem.

I'm currently going through menopause but because of another female issue my gynocologist has me on 40 mg of provera daily. No more hot flashes but when they did start (before the meds) I bought a fan.

Re: Menopause and depression.

I'm told I am about half way through, hot flushes are beginning to diminish, all I found helpful was a big electric fan in the bedroom, a smaller one in the living room and my lovely husband bought me a mobile air conditioner unit which is fabulous.

Depression I can't help with as apart from a very brief moment where I realised no kids ever, which was odd as I thought I had it over that years ago, I've been very very relieved at the end of my fertility.

My worst problems have been flooding but not really happy discussing that openly here. So that's all I'll say about it.
