Forums
A lot of forums have closed down lately and those that survive are very shaky and on their last legs or in their death throes.Why is it that this one is very healthy and very popular.
I think it's because so many members join in regularly and so do the mods who seem to be always here keeping things in order as well as making plenty of postings.
In short ..... As a new member I like it

I havnt been a member here very long but from my time so far here this forum seems to be a really genuinely friendly and supportive one ,unlike one I left,where it seems my "face didnt fit".There is such a wide variety of topics on here to post on as well which is great.
I think its the people that make the forum so strong

I like this forum because unlike some other forums, the mods on here are more sensible and are not jumping on your back the moment you happen to include other things that may not be relevant to the topic being discussed but is related in some other way, before coming back to what you would have been discussing in the first place. that's life ! that's what people normally do if they are having a face to face conversation - but some mods on other forums forget that. Keep up the good work mods, you are doing a sterling job !

This one is not so big and is easy to navigate around. Too many subjects and sub forums means I would spend the whole day on the thing, just looking at each subject .This one suits me fine!
(But that still doesn't prevent me from visiting and staying a member of other forums. One I was a member of recently DID close down, and was for fans of a couple of cult tv shows. I'm devastated!!!)

I like this place.It's friendly.
There seems to be more leeway (treating us like adults) .. and I've yet to see a thread where even if members disagree the line gets crossed into .. unpleasantness.
Whether that's down to some excellent discreet behind the scenes modding or the members themselves I don't know.
But it does make it a great place.

I liked this forum very much and thought I had a number of good friends but there are some on this forum who seem to think that it's their duty to put down others that do not measure up to their exacting standards and with rather thoughtless posting tend to disrupt what I regard as the natural flow with like-minded people.
It's the exchange of information, opinions and the discussions that appealed to me but now I only pitch-in when I think it is safe to do so.
Some posters do not seem to appreciate just how much of a lifeline a forum can be for those whose social connections are limited due to health problems. stevmk2

Very true and there are a lot of genuine posters here which is lovely
