Surely what goes on between two people in that regard is between them, and not to be discussed with others.

If you watch the 'Inbetweeners' they talk about sex all the time ..How to do it, Where to do it, and Who to do it with.They are not interested in their parents sexual habits. And..they all look at Porn sites to see Granny and Grandad
swinging naked for the chandlers shouting "Geronimo"
Groups of women are very forthcoming about sex and their experiences with their Husbands /Partners and all have a jolly good laugh.
Sex is no longer private as it is all over the TV The Tabloids and in magazines
Nothing is Sacred any more.
Once when switching on TV with my six year old Grand daughter the screen was full of a couple removing their clothes.
"We do not want to see that" I said switching channels
"Nan" she said "You know what they are going too do now.
they are going to have sex"
"That is private" said I "We do not want to watch them"
"No" was her reply What's for tea?

This question takes me back about 20 years.My Auntie Peggy, who had been widowed for 10 years had found herself a man friend.
Things progressed between them and one day when I went to visit her she told me they'd been to bed together and the intimate conversation they'd had afterwards - including him telling her it had been the best sex he'd ever had.. Then she went on to tell me how she'd always liked sex etc etc. I sat there thinking 'OMG I don't want to hear this'
Personally I would never talk about sex in front of my children. I don't think they'd want me too.

Even though it's before the 9 o'clock watershed, programmes like Coranation Street are continually discussing sex in all it's varied forms, without going into the details, thankfully.Their reasons for this is that it's supposed to reflects "real life"
Well I suppose that is one way of looking at it, another is they would have pretty poor story lines without the sex.
The current topic of sex, is male rape. Now the man who is the victim has, in my opinion, not very good acting skills but is managing to get the message across, without any graffic detail.
Considering how many of the relatively few actors involved in the bed hopping, I surprised there hasn't been any inbreeding up to now 😂😂😂 on the other hand .......

i can't speak for others of course but I'm afraid there is no way we would ever discuss something so private and personal to any of our gorillas or DIL's. I could just imagine the look of disbelief and yes, I would imagine disgust as well at the mere thought in their heads that we, their pensioner parents, still even have a sex life at our age!. No, I'm afraid it's just not in the nature of this family to discuss mum and dad's sex life.Not that I feel there is anything wrong with parents who feel perfectly comfortable being frank and open discussing their sex life in front of their children. Perhaps if we had had daughters instead of sons, I may have felt differently as they were growing up, after all, a mum and daughter(s) often discuss "lady things", so perhaps it's easier for those parents to go onto the subject of their own sex lives.
In this family, some things are best left unsaid.

Totally agree. I have daughters and we have talked openly about intimate things but mine and my husbands sex life does not enter into it. The only time one of my daughter's mentioned her sex life was when she was experienceing some pain durning sex.|
