Re: Any Rockers On Here

Yes David I did see Hawkwind as well. I used to go on a Saturday
night to the Leeds University as they had all these great groups on
in the late 1960's and 1970's. They even had Elton John and
Leonard Cohen there too.
I remember Lemmie as my friend Karen was born in Stoke on Trent
and it was her first boyfriend before he became really famous.
Haven't seen her for years now and often think of her.
Always think of her and Lemmie when I hear his music.

You made me laugh Realspeed. 1960 - 1990 too early

I suppose my taste is what is called `Catholic`(not the religion) . Depending upon my mood it could be rock, folk or Gregorian chant.

Re: Any Rockers On Here

Hi David, i like Classic Rock music, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Metallica, Deep Purple, AC/DC the usual rock bands.. We go watch mostly cover bands out and about.. We've just got back from a Bike Fest today that was on over the weekend! The bands that were playing were quite heavy

Re: Any Rockers On Here

The subject reminds me of a baby shower we attended. It was in a reception hall and as we went outside "Stairway to Heaven" was on the PA system. There was a big crowd and we had to wait quite awhile. Almost everyone over forty was singing along or moving to the music. It was like a religious experience ya know? Those were the classics..." Smoke on the Water", the first chords many learned on guitar. Let's see Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Alex Harvey, Ian Dury, Nick Lowe and Dave Edmunds, those were among some of my favorites. Later on I was pleased with the swing revival oh and The Fine Young Cannibals!
