11 million and counting

I see that the police have been granted more funds in the search for Madeline McCann. Personally I think enough has been spent already and it’s a waste of limited public funds.

What do you think?

I would never ever give up on any member of my family until i knew exactly what had happened to them. Would you?

I would find it hard to give up, however, it’s about spending public money that concerns me. I dont think it’s right when our Police are underfunded as it is.

Sad as it is I think it's time to give up .
All these unsolved cases are kept open I believe indefinitely .

No it's disgraceful.
What will other parents of missing children be thinking who have to find their own funding. Why should this case be regarded as more important simply because it's of a higher profile.
I'd love to see that poor girl found but I can't see that the police still have any sound information to justify all this.

Not bad is it? Another holiday for the cops in Portugal at taxpayers expense. The McCanns have enough money of their own raised by charitable donations to pay for further investigations.

Yorkshire's own Ben Needham didn't get as much publicity or funding as the M'Canns. Probably down to the differences in class and the prestige if this particular case was solved.

All that money and so many other kids have gone missing with barely a mention in the papers.

I agree. Lots of children are missing and files closed on them. So who speaks up for them?

Cannot quite understand what is so special about the MCcanns that the police keep being given extra funding . What is it those two ?
