New BBC Experts

The BBC wish to appoint several new experts to appear on News and Current Affairs programmes

Applicants should be black, Muslim lesbians in a wheelchair

No knowledge or experience of any particular subject is required, but an ability to read and write would be an advantage

What is wrong with being Black, a Muslim or a Lesbian, providing they are able to deliver the goods?

Nothing wrong with any of those, that's not the issue, it's the fact that they didn't advertise for a heterosexual or white person also.

That's the thing, they would be there because of who they are and not what they are. Also, no one should be able to discriminate against others when recruiting. (ie; white, straight, able bodied)

In the main, I think black and Asian presenters do an excellent job but we don't have a lack of them.

Hi

I have been unable to find any such advert.

A link would be very much appreciated.

Obviously another 'bad taste' April Fool, but a bit late in the day.

Re: New BBC Experts

It was reported in the paper reviews on BBC news 24 on 01/04/18 that by this summer the BBC intends that half of it's advisers will be women
Unfortunately I've forgotten my password for BBCiplayer and so can't find the reference

All my post did was to take this to a conclusion - look up the meaning of 'parody'

There is no problem with being black, lesbian, or whatever; the problem comes when these things are used as means for candidate selection
Such forced diversity is now so widespread in news programmes, dramas and adverts that many people now find it pathetic
