Watch out for Hairy Caterpillars.

Well for once, we seem to be the winners in the North / South
devide. The catterpillars all live in London.

I suppose that could be quite serious if children or older people, or maybe your pets got stung by one of these.

sam the innuendo disgusts me. shame on you ! omg they look horrid. I remember when I was a nipper we had a invasion of these things. I think its a cycle.

Yes Old Fool, I remember this happening a few years ago too.
There were pictures of them everywhere, masses of the things crawling up trees.

Do you still see those big black hairy caterpillars anyone? I've not seen any of those for years. We used to see them all the time as kids.

Hi ya Mups.

I also remember the big black hairy ones but I'm sure we used to collect them as children, so I can't remember if they were poisonous or not. It's a bit strange really because I'm not aware of any butterflies or moths that bite or sting (I suppose there must be).

I remember a few years ago we had a lot of these and were warned that they were poinsenous to touch,I think they grought you out in a rash,something like that
