Re: Is it time to let Alfie go ?

The really annoying thing is the money the hospital is spending on this court battle could have been spent on other patients needing expensive treatment

Hurrah For Alfie!

He's now breathing, on his own, after being taken off the life support system.

So now what will those in power do?

Well done Alfie!

I hope they don't withdrawl food etc. I've heard they do this so people starve to death in some situations, it's horrific!

It doesn't mean he will survive as he is having breathing problems and is on oxygen. It would be much kinder if he died, imo.

Have to wonder what might happen if this was the new Royal Baby?

I see the parents are trying to whisk him away to Italy but have been denied by a court order.

So he's breathing? What then? If he survives, he'll still be in a vegetative state having to be looked after for the rest of his life.

the poor baby more than likely won't have any quality of life, being in a vegetative state is no kind of life. It's very sad.

I haven't followed this case but I don't understand why we put severely ill children through such suffering. I don't believe anyone should be forced to suffer in such a way but a baby or young child has no choice. Is this really the life Alfie would want for himself?
