Why is Bail being allowed?
Can someone please enlighten me on the following? I understand that 8 people were arrested in relation to the terrorist action in London, including the partner of the person who committed the atrocity.On the news this morning, it states that she has been released on Bail. Why? No doubt someone will correct me but never thankfully had anything to do with someone being arrested and Bailed, I always assumed that Bail occurs when someone has been charged but Bailed to reappear on a certain date whilst investigations continue.
If this person has indeed been charged and Bailed, that is disgraceful. She should be kept incarcerated whilst investigations continue.
Can someone tell me if I am right or wrong please?

Like you SG I've no personal experience of this, but I think the police can give bail without the suspect being charged whilst enquiries continue, but the suspect has to present themselves back at the police station at a certain time and date..I can only imagine they don't suspect these people of serious offences otherwise they would be charged and banged up.?

Oh, thanks for that Barry. I didn't understand the meaning of bail. I always assumed that it was someone who had been arrested, charged and because they cannot keep them for any longer than 24 hours - Bailed.That is why I was so annoyed that she had been released when such serious investigations were continuing.
