I always answer my phone these days. Both my landline and my mobile.
I get texts and WhatsApp messages as well on my mobile which I also answer.
My landline and mobile have answer machines anyway. I dont answer my mobile when driving though but I'm sure I have a Bluetooth thing that works in the car but I have never bothered with it. I would probably use it on a long journey though.

Rarely. I mean,rarely,to the point of p#ssing people off because they "Rang five f###ing times 'n' you didn't answer!"

Which is true...but those same dorks all KNOW I drive a 250 ton low-loader.
Usually with an official,often uniformed, escort for the tricky bits.
No WAY am I paying attention to my phone when I'm mobile-let alone answering it. I have two hand radios,two ''CB''-style radios,plus a closed frequency emergency/urgent radio all in the cab...so my poxy iPhone can await it's turn...which can often be a day or so,before I even think about looking at it. [usually it's in my kitbag...which in turn is usually on the upper bunk]
Meh...bring back the carrier pigeon.

I just stretch out my right arm and lift it off the cradle from the shelf right beside me. No getting out of my nice comfy armchair for me just to answer some sodding cold caller!!!

Mine tells me who's calling! If the name is entered that's what it says. Or it recites the phone number, or says 'withheld'. I can then decide, from my armchair or wherever I am in the flat, whether to answer or let it go to a/m.

I answer all my calls it’s the only time I get to speak to people!
But to be honest I have a great deal of fun answering calls from companies, I have moved on from the silly French accent and I now respond with, ‘accounts department, how may I help?’ ..it’s fun, asking if they are phoning about a missed payment, but I am easily amused, after all I do read your posts.

No.

Despite registering with the TPS we still get frequent junk calls.

I let it ring, when the answer machine accepts the call, usually the cold caller will not even answer, but occasionally they do and I just let them prattle on talking to themselves.

If I recognise the caller, I'll pick up.

LOL, that is a good one Rehab. I must try that with one of mine. I get about 3 each eve a supper time. There is a slight delay, then they answer.....I will let you know how I get on with it. This is the best one I have heard Yet, LOL
