Carol.... The fact that yours has healed so well, gives me hope that mine will too.

Dextrous.... I am hoping that the physio is just little exercises to help my soft tissues loosen up again. Morphine always makes me sick, so do you think alcohol will do the same job?
Whatever you need. But they're nasty people, hell bent on pushing and measuring angles for reasons unknown.

I'm led to believe that Chinese medicine spends up to a year or so stretching and massaging the affected areas and applying poultices to good effect. Alas, the NHS can't afford this luxury. Whatever you can afford privately, I'd go for it. Wish I had.

Re: Just had my wrist plastered for the 3rd time

I wish you a speedy recovery, Twink.

When I fractured bones in my hand a few years ago, and because I'd taken myself up to UCLH, I went for hand therapy for a number of weeks. Before you start exercises, the hand was enclosed in hot wax. I enjoyed it so much I bought my own machine (but don't use it nowadays). Then the wax is removed, the affected hand manipulates that for awhile, then other items are handed to you. I got very adept at using chop sticks, with my left (non dominant) hand, picking up tiny coloured crystals!! And then harder exercises are introduced as time goes on.

I always enjoyed, and looked forward to, those sessions.

Re: Just had my wrist plastered for the 3rd time

Thank you Summer and Jazzi, I am sure I will get back to normal movement soon.
I am so right handed ( the side with the injured wrist) that eating is a nightmare.
I don't easily get frustrated BUT, when I eat with a spoon, I have to scoop up the food with my right hand and then, because can't turn my wrist to get the spoon to my mouth, I have to transfer the spoon to my left hand to put it in my mouth
Now I wish I had learned to be a drummer and become ambidextrous>
