As you get older is it inevitable that illnesses catch up with you?

I'm now 51 and had pancreatitis at 48 and cancer last year at 50.

Also I seem to suffer from a never ending succession of twists or sprains on some part of my body.

I'm luckier than some but realise that age is catching up with me, plus I wasn't particularly healthy in my habits (smoking and drinking) in my 20s and 30s.

I gave up smoking 24 years ago - still didn't stop me from getting Emphysema.

Ffosse, I am sure none of us are as healthy as we were, but the secret is not to let it get you down.
I always find that a positive attitude to poor health makes it a lot easier to deal with, so stay determined to beat it

I agree with the above Fosse, you are only middle aged still, you are certainly not old yet.
Try to stop worrying and do more things you enjoy, it makes us feel much better.
