Creative Help Needed!

I'm trying to think of ways to make an Ice Queen costume (Steampunk of course) for a fancy dress party I've been invited to. I would like to make some light weight icicles and snowflakes to embellish it (bustle especially). Does anyone know something suitable o make them with, bearing in mind I may have to sit down!

Hi Twiz ... Poundland, etc have a good selection of Xmas decorations, especially snowflakes, which might suit your purpose .... worth a look anyway.

Good luck

Oooo thanks Myrtle, I hope they're soft! I thought I may knit or crochet some but would like a mixed bunch! I could use hard ones for the crown though!

I have a silicone mold for icicles - wasn't expensive got it on amazon last year, you can use it for chocolate or cake or even inedible things. Might be nice to be edible Twiz.

Re: Creative Help Needed!

How about crochet doilies ..... or even the small paper cake doilies for the snow flakes?

.... and maybe the white icicle decorations you hang on the Christmas tree? The would be quite easy to sew on the dress I would think...

Re: Creative Help Needed!

I seem to remember I have a crochet snowflake pattern in an old American magazine somewhere, not very good at following crochet patterns but I can probably work it out by looking at the picture!
