Trying to turn £2 into £1000

Does anyone else on here, like a bet?
I back horses, with minimal success, very much a roller coaster ride and after a particularly bad run, I have just £2 left in my account. I am going to attempt to turn this into £1000 by backing "good things". This could be a very short lived thread, but here we go!

No gambling here I would never waste a penny on what might be.

Good luck anyway Peter...

Have you considered starting a Pyramid Scheme?

I don't lose much, and occasionally I get lucky and make enough for a decent dinner.

Tabarrak won at 10/11, but I took even money. Kitty is now £4.

Well done Peter I would quit while I was ahead and buy a treat with the winnings but I know you won't do that .
That is why I think gambling is 'a mugs game' always waiting for a bigger win which seldom comes.

I seen that Peter, he walked away with the race. Saturday is usually a good day for favourites so the best of luck to you. I never do multiple bets bets now, they would break your heart when you get three out of four up and the last one lets you down, I do single bets now, only a quid or two and do about ten on a Saturday, I usually get two or three up, it won't ever make you rich but it's the joy of having a winner and getting something back that I love, and it's bad picking on my part if the whole ten go down. I never do the lotto or the numbers in the bookies, the wife does and she's very lucky with numbers, after all she got me, I'm her number one.

Funnily enough I have not done multiples for several years now, but am thinking about going back to the occasional Lucky 15.
I have had an "in running" bet on the Murray's to win their Davis Cup match, not sure that was a good idea!

Re: Trying to turn £2 into £1000

I do the numbers (Bookies 49s) Jem, I do 4 lines of 4 numbers and at the beginning of September I had the 4 numbers up(hotpicks 25p a line) at 8000 to 1 so I won £2000-25p I suppose it'll be a long time before I have that luck again but hey ho I'll keep trying.......this is the one I mean
