Once again

Once again, the House of Lards has voted against the will of the majority:

I hope that they have signed their own death warrant. Not only do we not need them, they are totally unelected and, worse still, they seem to be anti-British.

We can't win really. There are those that are determined to send Britain down the cr@pper and I think they will succeed.

Re: Once again

I found it entirely predictably sadly they aren't democratically elected so don't understand democracy IMO

Re: Once again

The more things like this that I hear, the more I am convinced that this country has had it.

At my age, it doesn't really matter to me, but if I had children there's no way that they (and I) would remain in this country.

There are people in this country - not only the unelected Lords - who, for some reason I cannot understand, would prefer this country to cease to be a democracy in practice.

Yes, we would continue to have a vote for our government, but in practice the real decisions would be made either in Brussels or by the 'powers that be' which would include the Lords and their friends.

If nothing else, the future is going to be very interesting indeed.

Re: Once again

Because they aren't trying to fawn to fickle voters they always vote for common sense. They've chucked a great heap of rubbish out in the past.

Just one thing wrong with that statement.

The truth is that they always vote for anything that will benefit themselves.

I suppose that THEY would regard that as common sense!

Re: Once again

You only say that because you don't like their vote. People with self interest rarely agree with them. But they always vote for common sense. Not vainglorious jibber-jabber and populist pandering.
