Ok, I read that speech. Seems like a well thought out, reasonable, rational approach to the problems faced by the population.
I didn't see any nasty remarks. Merely a difference of opinion.

Speaking as an American, there is much about U.K. politics I don't understand. One question I have is, 'Why would voters in the U.K. elect a Marxist?' Seems counter productive for a nation that prides itself (rightly so), on being a free, independent and business-minded people.

I'm not sure whether he is a Marxist, and incidentally, neither does anyone else on here know - Marxism in that context is being used as a perjorative.

However, I AM a Marxist!!! and marxist idealogy and policies flowing from that idealogy are the best way forward for this country, given the present situation.

Not meaning to start an argument, but in seems to me that Marxism is a failed ideology. The Soviet Union had 70+ years of Marxism and they couldn't even feed their own people , though they were very good at producing people who wanted to get the hell out, and escape to the west. Heck, they even had to build walls to keep people IN.

Just saying.

Our belligerent forum member doesn't care one jot about that Bakerman. He spams the forum on a daily basis with anti-Tory vitriol like a teenager having tantrums. He doesn't care if his ideologies would result in people losing freedom of speech, being persecuted and so on. UJ and Commie Corbyn would see this country end up like Venzuela.

Socialism and Marxism are indeed failed ideologies and have never worked afaik. These people simply suffer from that most shameful of the 7 sins, envy. They would wrest money from those who have worked tirelessly all their lives to better themselves simply because they have more than he does.

Why is it that socialism has never worked . . . . I'll let UJ's favourite PM answer that:
