Re: A cheap car?

The resale value seems to be forgotten here, if you buy wisely at grand, you can use the vehicle everyday, and sell in a years time for say £800.00, not bad for a years motoring, if you buy a Lemon, you can sell it for £200.00 scrap.

Re: A cheap car?

If you know what a vehicle should sound like when it's running well it might be worth keeping your eye open for one that's for sale privately. My son saw one parked up in someone's drive with a For Sale note on it; it was the right price, he liked the look of it, it test drove very well so he bought it and is still delighted after 6 months!

Re: A cheap car?

I had a Vauxhall Astra. I ran it with no probs for 8 years then passed it on to my son who ran it on for another 5 before he passed it on. It's still going strong! Previous to that I had a VW Polo, that was another really good little car that never let me down. A friend has a Corsa which she reckons is brilliant.
