Closed all their social media accounts yesterday. Boss, Tim Martin, “I don’t believe that closing these accounts will affect our business". Making a stand against hate speech and malicious comments.

Good on him. It goes to show that businesses don't need to rely on the internet to keep them going, when they are at the stage where they are established anyway.

I agree, I don't think it will affect their business, big pubs and other big businesses thrived before social media and still will.

I have never understood why you need to follow them on facebook to fancy a pint but will the youngsters know what to do now the instructions have been removed?

Feedback on some promotions was poor and was a distraction. He says he is making a stand against social media because it had become a “waste of time” for him and his pubs.

Some think it a stunt, which has been denied.
He has a valid point about damaging effects of social media.

I think the plan is to put down painted footsteps in a nice primary colour which if they follow carefully will lead them to their local JD

Why is it that everywhere you eat or extract some kind of service you are expected to fill out survey?
Tim Martin is quite correct, they get all the feedback they need with the example of bums on seats...
