Seagulls Sozzled

Seagulls are getting drunk on discarded alcohol. The RSPCA centre at West Hatch near Taunton in Somerset has had to treat nearly 30 birds passed out and 'reeking of alcohol' in the past fortnight. So intoxicated they are unable to walk or fly.

They will obviously be looking for a drink and the poor birds don't know it is alcohol and will make them feel worse. I leave water out for birds all the time, but it soon evaporates in these temperatures.

We use an old dustbin lid so they can bathe, they love it and don't seem to mind sharing. We also top drinking water for them.

I have been changing the bird's water several times a day in this weather as it sometimes gets very hot.

i am surprised tbh that seagulls would drink something like alcohol unless they have acquired a bit of a taste for it of course.

I leave plant saucers dotted around the garden filled up with water. Usually check them throughout the day and top up when necessary.

After the season that Brighton had in The Premier League, it's no surprise their supporters have been at the sauce!!

Founded in 1901, and nicknamed the "Seagulls" or "Albion", Brighton played their early professional football in the Southern League, before being elected to the Football League in 1920.

Hope you're watching the England game Twink. They are leading the Swedes by a goal to nil, at half time!

I have managed to avoid watching any match so far.... but maybe that is lucky for England....so I won't watch this one, as i would like them to win!
BTW I am a keen rugby fan.

Your wish has been granted Twink!! England win 2-0. Gareth Southgate would like you to miss the semi final as well.
