Re: Should l Burst My Blister?

Has your gall bladder played up before, Art?

What did they do at the hospital, just painkillers?

Mups, l said on a thread here a few months ago that my tummy was bloated and l was getting reflux so the doctor sent me for an ultrasound scan. I was shocked to be told l had got gallstones, lots of them! I said, l couldn't believe it as l'd never had any pain with them. Both my mother and sister had, had them so it's in the family!
I took Apple Cider Vinegar (with Mother) as someone had suggested on that thread and the reflux and bloating disappeared. I had to see a consultant re. the gallstones and he said, as l had never had any trouble with them, just to leave them and come back in three months.
l got the awful pain just as l was going to bed on Sunday night and l was vomiting! At the hospital, l was put on a drip. I was given pain killers to take and anti sickness stuff intravenously. My blood pressure was taken at intervals. I had a bloodtest, an ECG and a chest X-ray too. They were very thorough.
I had to wait to see a surgeon so, l was kept in all night.
The surgeon came to see me the next morning and because the pain had gone, he said l am to eat no fats and l will receive an appointment to see him in two weeks time.
Eating today has been awful as everything seems to contain fat!

Blimey .....

One thing after another, as you said .....

I'm sure that you've been given dietary advice on non-fat foods but here's a "crib-sheet":

It may make life worth living again .....

Omah, Thanks, yet again!
I have taken pics of the 'crib sheet' on my iPad. It has really made me feel better to have some idea of what l can eat!
I never take sugar in anything, now no fats... there didn't really seem to be much left that l could eat!

Well, I empathised - some time ago, I was convinced that my left big toe was suffering from gout - it was swollen, sensitive and very painful but I put off going to the doctor for weeks because I was sure that he would blame it on my lifestyle .....

Anyway, when I did go to the doctor, he diagnosed arthritis .....

So me and my big toe would like to say "You're welcome" .....

Bing's best advice:

You've got to accentuate the positive
Eliminate the negative
Latch on to the affirmative
Don't mess with Mister In-Between
