Mutton dressed as lamb is a truly ghastly expression.
It reeks of sour grapes, bile, sucking lemons and ageism in all its horror.

Does anyone remember a TV programme a few years ago called Fashion Fashionistas...6 wonderfully stylish women in their 70s and 80s...role models extraordinaire!

Gawd ... if I looked like that I'd stay indoors. I do admire their bravery.

As to jeans ... I wear them all the time. Stretch straight legs or snug leggings (they tuck into high boots better).
Worse than holed jeans has to be a big fat tummy straining to get out like it's alive.

They all look appalling IMO. You can look stylish at any age without looking like eccentric old bats, which in my opinion they do.
