I have denim shorts but not short, shorts, which are worn on holidays abroad and three quarter jeans too, both light weight denim.

Well .. I suppose they could be called 'fun'.
Last time I looked anything like that was as a kid wearing cropped jeans a vest top and a womble hat ... pedalling around on a lad's racer.

They look terrible like the rag bag!
They don't even look like mutton just plain ghastly .
I wouldn't be seen dead looking like that .
One can be eccentric and funny and stylish without looking like a refugee from a jumble sale.
