I am really enjoying this programme, such a reminder of how lucky we are today . Those taking part are all good sports including Anne Widdecombe a dyed in the wool Tory supporting the Chartist movement so vociferously
I am guessing it is filmed at Blists Hill Victorian Town near Ironbridge, it looks authentic.

I remember a lovely old lady called Alice , she told me of her fears of going into the workhouse in Liverpool . She was in her 90s and I'm going back 45 years now . She remembered the horrors and was terrified of being put into a home as her memories were so vivid , she associated a home with the work house. Thank god when she died she was cared for .I watched last night , of course it was staged , but in true life poor souls lived in torture . Man's inhumanity to man
