Re: Finger picking anyone?

Sorry Mike I couldn't pick it up, but would love to hear it!
I am learning fingerpicking at the moment, I am learning the ukulele.
I felt the same as Barry, but I was determined to play something before I pass over, so I have bought myself a couple to try, a concert and tenor one.
I do find it hard with arthritic fingers, but I am getting there, I am trying to join a ukulele band, where I am told they will help get along.
My son plays his Fender, and he can play the piano as well, I don't know where he got it from, it certainly wasn't me.

Hope it's not a virus or spyware as my laptop has been doing some very odd things lately
I think it could be the Isle of Man weather?

Re: Finger picking anyone?

MKJ - interesting melody - having spent a few years in China it reminded me of melancholic classical chinese music which is hard to adjust to but in the end great.

then there were elements of Spanish classical too - I played sax and clarinet once and I think extemporization is the way to go - you can spend too much time study the 'dots' and if you have an ear for music just explore it.

having said that take Elton John spent a long time at music school in London before he just took off but I'm sure his teachers weren't too amused!

Leonard Cohen and Waits great
