Re: opening bottles /Jars

I have an under cupboard simple v shaped gadget opens bottles and screw caps, a Kuhn can opener opens tins really safely and easily, a blue plastic gadget opens ring pull cans, and a child to open and child proof caps. Works well for me, particularly the child she can do milk cartons too

Some packaging seems near indestructible - I often end up using a knife on my milk cartons as there is so little purchase to grip properly.

Re: opening bottles /Jars

I've got a jar key for opening jars with lids with an airtight seal.

I use an electric can opener although most cans these days have ring pulls.

When I was a kid my parents used to use the door jamb to open bottles that were tight. I tried it but it leaves dents in the wood

Dents in wood are a bit extreme.

I have a husband for that task, he has always had a very strong grip, even in his right hand, although he was paralysed down his right side for a few weeks after his brain haemorrhage in 2006.

I used that way to open bottles, but no dents in the wood. They don’t make wood these days like they did then.
