Clothes washing..

...do you leave it until it absolutely must be done and the washing machine is full or do you do it more liberally?

I suppose some have whites which must be washed separately or perhaps other materials which must be washed by hand.

Just idly wondering... I guess I'm asking how often people wash their clothes and not quite preparing my question properly...the mind's a funny place when it won't stay still.

I wash our clothes every three days or so.

That seems quite often to me, but I do live alone.

No, I don't have a dryer - I find hanging things up to dry therapeutic in that it makes the whole house smell clean as they dry in the air once my heating is on.

Re: Clothes washing..

I wash most days although I live alone but I do have 2 dog towels every day as well as my own . I don't have a dryer and find it easier to keep up with the drying in the winter if I wash little and often . I sometimes wash by hand and just spin in the machine.

Re: Clothes washing..

I sort our clothes out into different piles - colours, delicates, boil wash etc.

I don't wash them until I have a reasonably full pile. I find myself washing my white towels in a boil wash every few days. It only takes three bath sheets to fill my machine.

Other things like delicates may be left well over a week until there's enough to go in the machine.

Re: Clothes washing..

My machine has so many programs that I've had to have a good read of them this morning since I don't need a full wash done today - was previously only using the one program I knew.

I like how it indicates temperature, spin, anti-crease etc. I hope I've chosen the right, shorter program.
