Yes 90 degree is what I call a boil wash.
All my towels are white and they get put in a 'boil' wash every time.

Re: Clothes washing..

I do a wash bout every four days. I do have a dryer, but only use it for towels, throws (which weigh a ton when damp),tea towels, sheets etc, in the winter time. There is no way I would ever put our personal clothes into the dryer though. I don't trust those pesky things to not shrink them or make them creased. I have a box of hangers kept in the utility room and as I bring each garment out of the washing machine, I give them a good shake and hang them on the hangers to dry, smalls and pillow cases etc go onto the clothes horse to dry.

My husband has some white shirts, I had forgotten about those. But as he hardly ever wears his suit these days, they are rarely worn. However, I have never had a problem washing them with all my other items.

I wash when the laundry bag gets full, and never mix whites and coloureds.

Bedding, towels all white get washed at 60 degrees, coloureds 40 or 50 depends whether jumpers are in the wash.

I tumble dry towels, sometimes the underwear depends on whether I can hang out or not.

Assuming you have a washing machine it's hardly a chore these days, not like our grandparents had to go through on their weekly washing day.

Of course we have a washing machine, I still can't be bothered to do that one wash for all the clothes, as it doesn't do them any harm as they are always done on a 40 degree wash.
