I don't wash them until I have a reasonably full pile. I find myself washing my white towels in a boil wash every few days. It only takes three bath sheets to fill my machine.

Other things like delicates may be left well over a week until there's enough to go in the machine.
I do much the same, Carol.

All my towels are white as it's more economical to do a boil wash than having to wash coloured towels separately. Other white go in the same wash.
I got rid of my tumble dryer as I prefer line dryed clothes whenever possible.

If in doubt always chose the shorter programme.
It won't hurt cottons to have a 'delicate' wash but it would ruin your 'delicates ( knitwear etc) if you put them on a hot wash.

Re: Clothes washing..

As do I. I bought way too many clothes in a binge last year and am starting to wear them now - it's fun as I've got a lot of new items to try out and my weight gain has only been modest...not the lbs I thought I had put on.

I sort into darks, mediums, lights and towels/bedding and wash when I have a sufficient load. I don’t have a tumble dryer though sometimes think one would be useful. It would have to go in an already full garage!

I didn’t know there was such a thing Julie, it must be 30 years since I last had a tumble dryer. Do they not make the room damp at all? I do use a dehumidifier in our bedroom.

They aren't supposed to but I open the window slightly because they certainly heat the room up.
